JESSE COLIN YOUNG TALKS ABOUT RECOVERING FROM LYME DISEASE AND GOING BACK ON THE ROAD

JESSE COLIN YOUNG INTERVIEWED ON THE RAY SHASHO RADIO SHOW

Jesse Colin Young, critically acclaimed solo artist and lead singer of the legendary classic rock band, The Youngbloods, took the nation by storm when The Youngblood's single “Get Together” became a worldwide Top 10 hit and a prominent soundtrack for peace.
After seven group releases, Young began the production of more than 15 acclaimed solo albums including Song for Juli, Light Shine, Songbird and a live album with his great touring band titled On the Road. In 2005 he released the most comprehensive collection of his music to date—The Very Best of Jesse Colin Young. For the first-time ever, songs from his solo career as well as hits from The Youngbloods were placed in two CD package.
In 2014 Jesse became interested in the Saratoga warhorse project for Veterans and made a DVD in support of that organization called Out of the Darkness. It is available on iTunes, Amazon, Google and DVD on his website.

In 2012 Jesse was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and was unable to tour. In that time he created the Couch Series with Labrador on YouTube. He performed a variety of songs new and old, solo acoustic or with friends, and always with his famous silver Lab, Django. It was a way to still reach his audience without traveling due to the complications of Lyme Disease.

Jesse's musical accomplishments are many, including performing with Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin in 1969, touring with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the summer of 1974 and performing with Billy Joel, the Doobie Brothers and the Beach Boys. Jesse has also shared the stage with comics like Martin Mull. Other performances include going to the prisons of South Dakota and Minnesota to sing for American Indians rights with actor and musician Floyd Westerman.
As a member of the Youngbloods, in 1969 they were the only band to walk off the Johnny Carson show which was the definitive gateway to superstardom. The Story is worth a listen.
The Youngblood’s version of “Get Together” has been heard by millions from the Forrest Gump soundtrack in 1994, Cats and Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore, Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas, The Simpsons Oh Brother where Bart thou and Tree of Horror II, and South Park’s Smug Alert. Get Together commercials include The Pepsi commercial for the 1995 Super Bowl, the Luv's commercial in 2010 and Kentucky Fried Chicken in 2014.

Darkness Darkness, written by Jesse, was in Jack the Bear (1993), was the theme song for the James Cameron movie Ghosts of the Abyss in 2003 and was in the trailer of TV series Bloodline (2015). A cover of the song by Robert Plant won the Grammy for Best Rock Vocal in 2002. It remains a popular cover song for many bands.
2016 and 2017 will be productive times for Jesse. Starting Sept 16, 2016 he will begin the re-release of his 1970’s LP catalogue starting with Song For Juli on Audio Fidelity. Jesse is currently working on a collection of new recordings to be released in 2017 and will plan a tour in the fall.
Throughout his professional life of recording and touring, Jesse has always taken the time to dedicate his life to giving back to the world. He has performed on behalf of organizations ranging from the Dream Foundation and Saratoga Warhorse, to Prep Fest and the Kona Pacific Waldorf School, now the Kona Pacific Charter School. Holding environmental accountability, Veteran support and quality education as a moral code of action, Jesse remains committed and active as an individual and performer.

THE RAY SHASHO SHOW WELCOMES LAURA AND NIKKI LUNDEN THE SEDUCTIVE BADASS DUO OF 'LUNDEN REIGN'

'LUNDEN REIGN' PREPARES FOR THE RELEASE OF THEIR SECOND ALBUM: CONFESSIONS IN DECEMBER

Lunden Reign formed in the summer of 2013 following a tour of the UK by the Lora G & Nikki Lunden Band (Lora G now spelled Laura Espinoza-Lunden).  Since then the prolific songwriting duo, along with their producer & song co-writer, Luis Maldonado (lead guitarist for TRAIN) released their critically acclaimed debut "big beat, alt rock album "American Stranger" in 2015.  “AMERICAN STRANGER” received multiple music magazines’ “TOP 10-BEST OF” Lists for 2015.

Lunden Reign is preparing for the release of their second album: "Confessions" in December of 2016.  The first single & music video from their new album "RED WAGON (Can't Return to Yesterday)" made its debut on Sept.17th of this year.
This is the first of ten songs LR created for their sophomoric album.

My Review of “Red Wagon (Can’t Return to Yesterday)” by Lunden Reign reads as follow … "It is by far the best song and music video to date by one of the finest bands to arrive on the rock music scene since the 90s. Nikki & Laura Lunden are a seductive badass duo liberating rock to its glory days. Laura’s proficient songwriting and masterful electric licks are driven by Nikki’s amazing vocals and intensity. The girls acquired a similar musical brilliance and tenacity as legends … Heart, Joan Jett, The Bangles, The Go Go’s and Letters to Cleo. And if “Red Wagon (Can’t Return to Yesterday)” is an indication of even better things to come, than their new album to be released at the end of this year entitled "Confessions" should be epic! The song and video are up for Grammy consideration in "BEST VIDEO" and "BEST NEW SINGLE" … They’ve got my vote, I truly love this band!"

Nikki & Laura are the core members of Lunden Reign along with Producer & co-writer Luis Maldonado. Nikki & Laura perform both as an acoustic duo: "Laura & Nikki Lunden of Lunden Reign" and as "Lunden Reign" with their full band comprised of: Nikki (lead vocals, guitar), Laura (guitar, keyboards), Matt Lucich (drums), Matt Denis (bass) .When not on tour with TRAIN, Luis Maldonado will sometimes join Lunden Reign on stage.

Several legendary rock artists (who love LR's music) have joined them on stage including:  Dale Bozzio (Missing Persons; Terri Nunn (Berlin) and Prescott Niles (The Knack). LR has opened for Belinda Carlisle (Go-Go's); Salt n' Peppa and performs regularly on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood.
Reverbnation classifies the band’s sound like …Paramore, Evanescence, Fleetwood Mac, No Doubt, and The Cranberries. Labeled as …Original Big Beat Alternative Rock Band.

THE RAY SHASHO SHOW WELCOMES DOUG ALDRICH: GUITARIST AND SONGWRITER FOR 'THE DEAD DAISIES' ON BBS RADIO

'D O U G   A L D R I C H'
 TALKS DIO,WHITESNAKE &
THE DEAD DAISIES
ON THE RAY SHASHO SHOW
You need neither an instruction manual nor a university education to love the Dead Daisies’ music. Their songs unerringly hit their listeners’ autonomic nervous system, immediately take root in their hearts and souls and force them to move along to the rhythm. “There are lots of very good reasons why this kind of rock´n`roll has never gone out of fashion,” band members David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink), John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, Ratt), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy) and Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner) agree, our songs are simply timeless, immortal, classic! That’s why working with The Dead Daisies is so much fun, and that’s why the reaction is always phenomenal, no matter when and where this band turns up.”
With his keen instinct and clear vision, founder, guitarist and songwriter David Lowy has put together an amazing group of musicians that has caused a stir with different line-ups, generating a consistently high level of individual renown and outstanding artistic substance since 2012. While initially, Richard Fortus and Dizzy Reed of Guns N’ Roses, Rolling Stones members Darryl Jones and Bernard Fowler, as well as John Tempesta and Charley Drayton of The Cult, among others, were involved, Low-y has once more enlisted international stars for the recordings of the Dead Daisies’ third album, Make Some Noise. “For me as a vocalist, this kind of high-calibre line-up is an absolute dream come true,” enthuses John Corabi. “When you work with the Dead Daisies, everybody is amazingly motivated to deliver top performances.” So their new release lives up to its programmatic title: it would be difficult to imagine a rock album that sounds more powerful, energetic and vibrant.
Make Some Noise celebrates the kind of classic rock’n’roll that has gone from strength to strength since the early 1970s and that sweaty clubs, hallowed (concert) halls, arenas and stadiums would be impossible to imagine without. Strong hooks, intense riffs, which have guitarist Doug Aldrich prove his outstanding qualities, supported by a rhythm section consisting of drums and bass that march forward without compromise plus Corabi’s charismatic vocals – this album rocks from the first to the very last note.

Cross-references to renowned bands from the past feature just as much as highly contemporary sounds and trendsetting directives. A number such as ´Long Way To Go` couldn’t have been delivered better by AC/DC. ´Mainline` and ´Last Time I Saw The Sun` bring to mind the likes of Aerosmith and Mr. Big. The title track ´Make Some Noise` is nothing less than a self-confident, tongue-in-cheek rock statement that summarizes this album’s general direction and may be taken quite literally – namely when a euphoric audience give way to their enthusiasm. Not forgetting the wonderful ´Song And A Prayer` with its guitar licks and anthemic chorus reminiscent of Guns N` Roses. Cross your heart: this is the kind of superb composition that the public has been waiting for since ´Paradise City`.

Having said that, stylistically The Dead Daisies may be paying homage to the long tradition of rock music, but they prove their unconditional independence with every one of their tracks.

Make Some Noise quotes renowned icons but also resurrects – like its two predecessors The Dead Daisies (2013) and Revolución (2015) – almost forgotten rock classics. While in the past, The Dead Daisies brought back to life numbers like the Alex Harvey success ´Midnight Moses` and ´Helter Skelter` by the Beatles – both celebrated enthusiastically by the group’s fans – Make Some Noise sees new incarnations of the Who anthem ´Join Together` and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ´Fortunate Son` forges an arc to the most colourful era of rock history. Producer Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Buckcherry) has made a significant contribution to the album’s success, furnishing Make Some Noise with a breathtaking sound at the studio in Nashville.

As David Lowy puts it so aptly: “The Dead Daisies mean pure fun to me. This band is first and foremost about our passion for this kind of music and about celebrating classic rock’n’roll. Because one thing is clear: if we have fun in the studio and live on stage, that spark is bound to ignite our audience.”

RAY SHASHO WELCOMES LEGENDARY IMPRESSIONIST AND COMEDIAN RICH LITTLE TO THE SHOW

EXCLUSIVE:THE RAY SHASHO SHOW WELCOMES THE LEGENDARY
'R I C H  L I T T L E'

A master mimic of more than 200 voices, Rich Little continues to impress with a touring schedule throughout the United States and Canada.

U.S. Presidents: John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, both George Bushes and Barack Obama…Rich Little has a voice for every administration.
Infamous for his skewering of political figures, Little has charmed, amused, intrigued and gotten the best of politicians from here to his native Canada. He entertained at both of Reagan’s presidential inaugurations and got to know the Reagans very well during that time. President Reagan used to tell Little, “You do me better than I do.”
A professed classic movie buff, he’s particularly fond of doing Jimmy Stewart, Jack Lemmon, John Wayne and Humphrey Bogart, but Little has also latched on to baby boomer-friendly characters, such as Paul Lynde, Kermit the Frog, Andy Rooney and Dr. Phil, to name a few.

Some of his favorite current impressions are of stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Jack Nicholson, and Clint Eastwood. “They’re easy to do,” he says. “They are larger than life.”

Little says, “An impression is what you think a person sounds like. It could be an exaggeration or a cartoon. It’s your impression. I think of an impersonation as more of an exact copy. Knowing the person personally is not important; it’s knowing the speech patterns and mannerisms [in order] to imitate the person the way the public sees him.”
The son of a doctor in Ottawa, Little started his “career” at the age of 12 when he answered back to his teachers in their own voices. Observing the teachers in action was infinitely more fun than paying attention to class work. To get dates, he’d find out a girl’s favorite actor, then call her up imitating that actor’s voice. Then when Little showed up, he’d say, “Sorry, Cary [Grant] can’t make it.” This stopped when a girl told him her favorite was Lassie.
Impressions came in handy to Little while working as a disc jockey and talk show host. During one April Fool’s Day marathon, he had “Jimmy Durante” emcee the morning show, “Julia Child” do a cooking show and “Elvis Presley” host a teenage show. Like the infamous 1939 broadcast of War of the Worlds, 500 autograph-hungry Elvis-believing fans besieged the station, thinking the King was really there. When they found out it was Little, the fans started throwing things at him.
Still in his early 20s, Little was discovered while working in the United States. His friend, singer Mel Torme, then on the musical team of CBS network’s The Judy Garland Show, asked him to make a tape. Instead of the usual impressions, Little did voices nobody did, including Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles and Dennis Weaver. Garland thought it was great, particularly his James Mason, and Little was signed to the show.

Appearances on TV variety shows starring Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Glen Campbell and Dean Martin followed, as well as on series such as Laugh-In, The John Davidson Summer Show and as a regular on The Julie Andrews Show. Little also had his own variety show in the 70s and was the star of the TV show KopyKats. Little was a guest host early on for The Tonight Show, hosting 12 times. He quickly became a household name sitting in one of the Hollywood Squares and went on to do The Muppet Show.

Named “Comedy Star of the Year” by the American Guild of Variety Artists, Little was the perpetrator of nine comedy albums and three HBO comedy specials, as well as the Emmy-award winning specials Rich Little’s Christmas Carol with “W.C. Fields” as Scrooge, “Humphrey Bogart” as one of the ghosts and “Paul Lynde” as Bob Cratchit.
One of his appearances on HBO was as Johnny Carson in the movie The Late Shift, which dealt with the race to succeed Carson on The Tonight Show. Little has appeared on the daytime soaps The Young and the Restless and Santa Barbara. He has made dramatic guest shots on Fantasy Island, Chips, and Murder She Wrote… to name just a few.

Rick’s greatest fear? A sore throat. “Other people get a cold and they just get a cold. I get a cold and John Wayne gets a cold, Orson Welles gets a cold, Nixon gets a cold and Truman Capote gets the sniffles. I get a cold and it’s all over.”

In June 1998, Little’s star was added to the Canadian Walk of Fame to go along with his current stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Palms Springs Walk of Fame and Las Vegas Walk of Fame; one of the few, if not the only celebrity to achieve all four.
In 2003, Little wrote a one-man play entitled, Jimmy Stewart and Friends in honor of this beloved actor and dear friend.  The story of Stewart’s amazing big screen career, his military record and his family life, including many celebrity impersonations, was met with rave reviews during a decade of touring at performing arts centers..  He’s hoping to have it made into a television special in the near future.

A little known fact about Little is his other talent as an artist.  He started sketching when he was young, drawing his family and friends.  To date, he has drawn around 100 pictures of all the celebrities and politicians he imitates, and portrays several of these life-like charcoal sketches in his shows.
In January 2010, Little became a United States citizen and was sworn in, with a suggestion from the judge to do it as John Wayne! Little is still currently working on his latest project, “Little by Little” a self-written, humorous show about his life, featuring over 30 characters.

Rich Little has an exciting new book out entitled Little by Little- People I’ve Known and Been- released in August this year and available to purchase on amazon.com or visit www.littlebookbylittle.com

TONY PALMER LEGENDARY BRITISH FILMMAKER & DIRECTOR IS THE SPECIAL GUEST ON THE RAY SHASHO SHOW

TONY PALMER AND HIS RE-EDITED VERSION OF THE BEATLES WORLD WAR II

Tony Palmer’s  film resume includes over 100 films, ranging from early works with The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher (Irish Tour '74) and Frank Zappa (200 Motels), to his classical portraits which include profiles of Maria Callas, Margot Fonteyn, John Osborne, Igor Stravinsky, Richard Wagner,  Benjamin Britten and Ralph Vaughan Williams. He is also a stage director of theatre and opera.
Palmer’s latest project is a legendary musical tribute “The Beatles and WWII” issued on CD/DVD by Gonzo Multimedia UK .Take a group of some of the most famous solo artists of the 70’s – Elton John, Tina Turner, The Four Seasons, The Bee Gees, Peter Gabriel, Bryan Ferry, Rod Stewart, Leo Sayer, Keith Moon, Helen Reddy, Jeff Lynne & Frankie Valli – get them to sing cover versions of some of the most famous Beatles songs ever written. Add a considerable dollop of authentic documentary footage of the Second World War telling the story of that epic encounter…

“The Beatles and WWII”!!! Sound crazy? It is. But enormously entertaining, and occasionally very chilling. A unique blend of music and film like no other. Of that much we can be absolutely certain.
“The best collection of Beatles covers in a film EVER”

In an article written by Ronnie Dannelley editor of Ear Candy Magazine: “The old 1976 film was the strangest mix of cinema and rock ‘n’ roll, combining World War II images (newsreels and Hollywood films made at that time) with the music of The Beatles (not The Beatles original recordings, but by various artists). The old movie combined a pastiche of World War II-themed film segments (both period films and post-war action films) with the backdrop of the music of The Beatles (NOT the original songs, but cover versions by various artists). Strange concept huh? A long story, but the end result was disastrous. The original distributor junked the film so completely that no copies survived, and the film took on its iconic status.”
Says legendary director Tony Palmer of his new film, “Although the original 1976 film had disappeared, thanks to the indifference and stupidity of the original distributor, instinctively I felt the central idea, and the material, and of course the music, were just too good to be lost forever.

“So for those fans who have had to rely on a few very poor quality extracts on YouTube, the 2016 film is a completely new experience, much of it in HD. Yes, we have used some of the original tracks, but added a lot of new archive footage, some never seen before. In addition, I have often used totally different music. The film starts with Vaughan Williams, and ends with Shostakovich, taking in Rachmaninoff  en route and including many of the famous 2nd World War speeches by Roosevelt, Churchill, Montgomery, Chamberlain, Joe Kennedy and Hitler.  And the film makes reference to war-torn Syria and the massive problem of immigration along the way.
