NEW BLOCKBUSTER TELL-ALL BOOK
"R  O  C  K   D  O  C"
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!
Neil Ratner quit college in the late sixties and traversed the Hollywood celebrity world as a successful road manager for names like Edgar Winters White Trash and tour manager for Emerson Lake and Palmer. He established a full-service production company (a pioneering approach at this stage) to support the artists on tour and worked with T-Rex, Genesis, Pink Floyd and many others. Later in his career he managed the successful songwriter Denise Rich and built Dream Factory studios in NYC. Denise was the wife of Marc Rich, (one of the world’s most successful commodities traders, indicted in the largest case of tax evasion ever brought against an individual in the US at that time) After his successful career in the music industry he decided it was time to follow his heart and pursue his other childhood dream of becoming an MD. Even though not a single American school wanted to take him, he didn’t give up and moved to Mexico to get his medical degree. He made it back into the American system and after many years of residency Neil became an anesthesiologist. Traditionally anesthesiologists worked in hospitals, but Neil had other ideas.
He was the first to take the practice of anesthesia out of the hospital and into doctors’ offices in NYC. When Propofol became available in the U.S. in the late 1980 s Neil was one of the first to become expert in its usage as it was a perfect drug for office use. His relationship with the top plastic and reconstructive surgeons in New York allowed him to treat a number of high-profile patients. That is how Neil met Michael Jackson. He became his personal doctor and a close friend. They had a lot in common. Neil accompanied the star from late 1997 until his last performance in 2001. Neil became a trusted friend of Michael's from 1994 to 2002, periodically going on tour and spending time with Michael at Neverland.
Rock Doc is Neil’s remarkable journey about Rock & Roll and Michael Jackson, Nelson Mandela, a prison sentence with very unexpected results and how helping the poorest of the poor became a key part of his life.

ROCK DOC will take you from backstage at a Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon concert in the early seventies, where Neil's production company, Circus Talents, Ltd. was providing production services, to the office operating rooms of elite New York surgeons where Neil Ratner MD was Director of Anesthesia. Neil was an aspiring rock n roll drummer but ended up on the other side of the business working as both a tour manager for Emerson, Lake, & Palmer and providing production for the Pink Floyd. After a bad attack of kidney stones and a stint in the hospital, Neil had an epiphany and decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a doctor. Dr. Ratner became an expert in the use of the new drug, Propofol, a drug that would play a significant role in Neil's future. Although Dr. Ratner encountered many celebrities in his anesthesia practice, one would change his life... Michael Jackson.

NEW SINGLE "MY WORLD"
& UPCOMING ALBUM
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!

If you miss rock music and those iconic alternative rock & grunge bands of the 90’s which have lost its most influential band members to drugs and suicide … don’t worry because Empty Trail is HERE!
Rick Lambert is a cross between Chris Cornell & Layne Staley! My new favorite band!

Austin, Texas has spawned a variety of world-renowned bands over the years that covered a wide variety of styles - Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, the Sword, Scratch Acid, Dangerous Toys- and a band that one day may very well be mentioned in the same breath is the fast-rising/hard rocking Empty Trail. Comprised of members Rick Lambert (vocals/guitar), Shane Wallin (bass), and Rom Gov (drums), the band was started elsewhere. “The band essentially formed here in Austin,” recalls Lambert. “However, it has been a personal project of mine since the spring of 2013 while I was living in Los Angeles. I thought it would be better to start a band in Austin because of the highly saturated market in Los Angeles. I went through a couple of members, but eventually found the full live band in the summer of 2016. I decided to keep it as a 3-piece. It seemed a bit less expected.”

Empty Trail’s most recent single, “My World,” Lambert and company have already solidified their sound.  Lambert states … “I think Empty Trail’s sound takes bits and pieces of the most iconic hard rock/metal bands while maintaining authenticity. I’ve always wanted things to be relatable and believable. I don’t really want to be limited to a box. I’m sure every artist says this, but it’s true! I think the music fits the mold of catchy and even pop-y at times, which seems to be what’s going around, but it comes from a real place. I’m in music because this keeps me going. I have something I need to say, something that I need to let out, because if I bottle it up it is destructive. Yes, it’s rock, and it’s exciting and I want everyone to have a great time, but if you are listening, I hope it makes you feel understood. Somewhere where you can be free and not judged for who you are.”

PAT VEGAS OWES HIS SUCCESS W/REDBONE TO HIS FRIEND JIMI HENDRIX:EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS W/RAY SHASHO-BBS RADIO

P   A   T
V   E   G   A   S
BASSIST-SINGER-SONGWRITER
W/LEGENDARY NATIVE AMERICAN
ROCK GROUP
R    E    D    B    O    N    E
AND MUSIC PIONEER WITH
PAT AND LOLLY VEGAS
According to cofounder, bassist, singer and songwriter Pat Vegas, it was Jimi Hendrix who talked the musicians into forming an all-Native American rock group. Vegas told Record Collector writer Jeremy Isaac, "Hendrix was a friend of ours.... and he was half Indian. Once he knew that we were Indian too he used to come and hang with us because of that. Jimi made me aware of my roots: He'd say, 'Native American is beautiful, man, be proud of that.'"
Redbone's story is interesting from more than one point of view. The band itself of course, who had a great career, with ups and downs. The fact that the musicians were all native Americans from different origins (Cherokee, Yaquis, Apaches and Shoshones...). Their political implication and the fact they were censored, shows a very interesting political and social background of the US nation. All this plus the fact that they produced a unique, powerful and soulful music!

The name Redbone itself is a Cajun term for a mixed-race person ("half-breed"), the band's members being of mixed blood ancestry. The band referenced Cajun and New Orleans culture many times in their lyrics and performing style.
The mid-seventies were the period of big success, not only in the USA but even more in Europe and especially in the Netherlands. Maggie, The Witch Queen of New Orleans, Come and Get your Love, Wounded Knee and even Suzy Girl were big hits in many European countries, some reaching Number One. This led the band to tour and play almost non-stop during this period.

They shared the stage at various times with Dr. Hook, Albert Hammond, and others. Highlights on U.S. tours include playing at Carnegie Hall in New York with Argent and Kiss, opening for Marvin Gaye at the Forum in Inglewood, California, sharing the bill with Parliament Funkadelic in Philadelphia, and playing with Steely Dan at the Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Pat Vegas has continued to write music over the years. Some tunes had been recorded since 1980, with Lolly of course, but also with Tony bellamy for some songs. Finally, in 2005 Pat puts this work out on a new CD called One World. It was released in 2005 by a small independent record company. It was reedited in 2009 and retitled as Peace Pipe. At the same period Pat Vegas recreates the band with new musicians. They tour mainly in the west of the United States since.
Redbone was inducted into the Native American Music Association Hall of Fame in 2008, as well as the New York Smithsonian in 2013.

In 2014, "Come And Get Your Love" experienced a resurgence in popularity – and has been thoroughly embraced by a new generation - when it was featured in the Marvel Studios film Guardians of the Galaxy as the very first, and many say most important song, on a mixtape made for the film’s hero, Peter Quill- “Starlord” It was also included on the film's soundtrack album, which reached the Number 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, where it remains.  When released as a single in 1974  it went certified Gold, selling well over one million copies, and it is a song that just does not fade away-- there have been over one hundred million hits on
YouTube alone.
Since 2015 "Come And Get Your Love" has been used as the theme song for Netflix produced cartoon series “F is for Family” and the TV series “Big Shrimpin”.

HUNDRED SEVENTY SPLIT
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Leo Lyons became a professional musician at the age of 16 and as a founding member of the band Ten Years After has been an on-stage eyewitness to some of the most pivotal moments in Rock and Roll history.

In 1967 Ten Years After held a residency at London's famous Marquee Club and a debut album out on Deram Records, and the band were soon to build up a huge following in Europe. Fillmore West and Fillmore East founder Bill Graham heard a copy of the band's first album and immediately sent a letter offering to book Ten Years After into his historic venues in San Francisco and New York. They were also one of the first rock groups to be part of the Newport Jazz Festival. At Newport and on tour TYA performed with Nina Simone, Roland Kirk, Miles Davis and other jazz legends barnstorming across the US.

Their now legendary encore " I'm Goin' Home" was captured on film at The Woodstock Music and Arts Festival, exposing their jazz blues rock amalgam to an even larger audience of movie goers who were blown away by the intensity of the band's performance when the academy award winning documentary was released. Their ten-minute appearance in the film is an acknowledged highlight and established Ten Years After a place in rock history. The band's albums are still available, and all have reached Gold or Platinum status.

Leo has produced records for such music legends as UFO, Procol Harum, MotorHead, and many more.
In 2003 Ten Years After reformed yet again, this time with new guitarist singer Joe Gooch replacing Alvin Lee, and for the past seven years, aside from writing and producing, Leo has recorded three CD's and toured the world with Ten Years After.
In the Summer of 2010 together with TYA guitarist Joe Gooch he formed 'Hundred Seventy Split'; a new, exciting, high energy Blues/Rock power trio showcasing their combined talents.

Leo and Joe resigned from Ten Years After at the end of 2013 and to celebrate a new beginning Hundred Seventy Split released a new CD, simply titled, HSS, followed by The Road, two years later.
Their live shows have already proved popular with TYA fans. HSS play TYA classics alongside new material in their shows.
'Hundred Seventy Split' was formed to play music

that rocks outside of the TYA box.

ROBERT BERRY'S INCREDIBLE COLLABORATION AND TRIBUTE TO KEYBOARD LEGEND KEITH EMERSON ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS-BBS RADIO

MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST- SINGER-SONGWRITER-PRODUCER
COLLABORATION AND TRIBUTE
TO KEYBOARD LEGEND
K E I T H   E M E R S O N
MEMBER OF THE GREG KIHN BAND
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Robert Berry has managed to survive in the treacherous minefield that is the music business and flourished as a performer, songwriter and producer. It seems he's done it all. While he may be best known as the vocalist/bass player in the ELP spinoff, 3, with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer, Berry impressive list of credits include a stint fronting Ambrosia, and long running affiliations with Alliance, December People, and the Greg Kihn Band.  Berry has released 5 solo albums, contributed to a number of high-profile tribute albums and has an impressive track record in the studio.

2017 was noteworthy for some major efforts. Early in the years, Berry, on bass and lead vocals joined with Terry Brock (GIANT, STRANGEWAYS) on lead vocals, Gary Pihl (BOSTON, SAMMY HAGAR, ALLIANCE) on guitar, and Matt Starr (ACE FREHLEY, MR. BIG) on drums, to form ALL 41.  They released the band's debut album, "World's Best Hope".  Simultaneously, he mounted a dedicated effort to complete his collaboration with Keith Emerson on the long awaited 3 follow up.
That album, which took shape in 2016, was nearly shattered with the news of Keith Emerson tragic death.  Ultimately and as a tribute to the friendship of Emerson and Berry, it somewhat painfully got back on track and The Rules Have Changed on Frontiers Music SRL was released earlier this year.
