The two long-time collaborators met in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 2005 and have been working together ever since. Originally brought together to work on Simon’s solo career, the spark of creativity between Simon and Kelly was undeniable. They soon began writing original material together, much of which would end up on Dimensionaut.

With a successful progressive rock album under their belts, Simon and Kelly were determined to continue the work they started with Sound of Contact. During the UK production of Simon’s 4th solo album “Becoming Human”, Kelly recorded a demo of the song “emolecule” in a flurry of inspiration. With this new offering, Simon and Kelly decided their way forward was as a duo and they would pool their best material under the name emolecule.

In the summer of 2020, emolecule decided it was time to begin work on their debut album and that it was to be a concept album.

Meeting in person at Simon’s studio in Ireland, the duo spent a solid month writing the concept and music start to finish.

Over the following months, they completed writing, producing and performing ‘The Architect’ both remotely and together in Ireland. The Architect features intense, heavy guitar and drum performances as well as deep, atmospheric and emotionally driven arrangements. From start to finish, emolecule’s first offering captivates the listener with infectious vocals, dynamic guitars and ultra-modern production from the epic opening track ‘emolecule” to the powerful climax of the closing track “Moment of Truth”. This band and album are set to take the listener to another dimension.

BOOK REVIEW

-By Literary Titan (5) STARS

The Rock Star Chronicles by Ray Shasho, is a splendid book written by a music enthusiast who has poured their heart and soul into it. It’s a story of a boy who loved rock music, and his obsessive passion of it earned himself the name Rock Raymond. He went to school but instead was schooled in all matters of music while his peers were buried chin-deep in coursework. He then became a radio DJ and has now compiled a book on all interviews he held with Rock gods who raided the airwaves back in the 70s and 80s. It’s a compilation of interviews with outstanding vocalists, legendary guitarists and crazy drummers in the rock music scene. Each interview gives a reader an in-depth view into their personal lives and the philosophies that guide their lives which all serve to humanize these great icons. For readers who are old enough to call themselves baby boomers this book will bring old memories back to life. Millennials, on the other hand, may think of this book as a literal work of the Carpool Karaoke show.

The Rock Star Chronicles is a book I didn’t know I was waiting for. To come across a book that will talk me into trying something new. One brave enough to incite me to venture into new frontiers. This book made me a believer- I am now a bona fide Rock and Roll music fan.

Ray Shasho masterfully gets the interviewees talking. He smartly coaxes answers from them with crafty questions designed to get a story rolling out of them. The artists talk about diverse issues ranging from music, politics, and their social engagements. Having been on the music seen all his life, Ray Shasho knows the buttons to press, how to get them comfortable about talking about their lives.

The book’s cover is befitting of its subject matter with the leather look offering a royal background to the golden letter print. It speaks to how high a level rock music holds in the pecking order- arguably, modern music as we know it has originated from blues and rock music.  The second noteworthy thing is the use of high-definition pictures to reference the musician being interviewed in every sub-chapter. This ensures that the book is for both original rock and roll lovers and aspiring new ones. Together is makes for a refreshing and consistently enjoyable read.

I recommend this book to rock music enthusiasts, aspiring musicians wondering what it takes and all readers curious to learn new things by going back in time.

Brian Chatton good friend & ex roommate of Keith Emerson confirms the rumors that Jimi Hendrix was planning to join Prog Rock legends Emerson, Lake & Palmer in a zoom TV exclusive on Interviewing the Legends with Ray Shasho. The group that never was would have been called HELP. Hendrix-Emerson-Lake-Palmer.

Veteran keyboardist and performer Brian C. Chatton — whose 50 plus year career encompasses all incarnations of the so-called “British Invasion” which helped to shape modern popular music — has led a storied life, far different from that of his humble beginnings in Northern England’s Lancashire province.

Chatton is a gifted showman who has garnered the respect of the many music industry giants he has worked with over the years from the time of his first professional gig at the original Cavern Club in 1965. They include Phil Collins, Meat Loaf, Justin Timberlake, The Hollies, Alan Parsons, John Miles and Jon Anderson. His hit record, “I Wanna Be a Cowboy” — a collaboration with Nick Richards and the members of their band Boys Don’t Cry — sold over one million copies worldwide and is still featured in movies, advertisements and other venues over 30 years since its initial success. It also earned them a Gold record.

Since immigrating to the US in the 1990s, Chatton has participated in a variety of professional experiences, including an appearance playing piano with B.B. King on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

He is the father of two equally talented daughters who have followed his footsteps into the arts respectively, and of whom he is extremely proud. Emily Chatton is a much sought-after fine artist in New York City, whilst older sister Charlotte Chatton Adler has been a successful actress and screenwriter in Hollywood for over 20 years.

Rolling with Rock Royalty isn’t your ordinary autobiography about the music business.

Hailing from a blue-collar town in the North of England, teenage keyboardist Brian Chatton played his first professional gig at the world-famous Cavern Club in 1965 with Jon Anderson (YES) in their then band The Warriors. From that point on, he rocked and rolled around the world many times alongside the most celebrated rock giants during the height of the British Invasion.

Music Connection’s January 2019 review of the book states that “What comes through wonderfully is Chatton’s English charm, his glib and winning spirit, something that must’ve helped him survive the often rough and tumble rock life”.
